“My eyes are my favourite part of me, not for how they look but for what they see.” Frau Feremaise
At De Jongh Optometry our patient’s eyes are our favourite part too!! Sight is one of the most important senses and one only realises this when something happens to change the quality of normal vision.
We make use of the latest technology to diagnose any eye condition. An instrument that we are quite fond of is our Retinal camera. This instrument takes a beautiful photo of the back side of the eye. These photo records are kept for each patient and every year with the general eye examination we can compare changes, if any. This enable us to give the most accurate diagnosis and best treatment options that is available.
February is synonymous with love for various reasons and all across the world on the 14th , this special day, is celebrated with flowers, chocolates, gifts and special dinners. We would like to remind you to love your eyes. Book your appointment for your annual eye examination.
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new staff members to you:
Lizanda van Heerden joined our team already in February 2017. She has more than 5 years’ experience in practice and we were lucky to welcome her to our team. Lizanda will gladly assist you with any enquiries related to spectacles. She will work out the best quotation for you towards your new frame and lenses. She has proven that she will go beyond the extra mile for our patients.
When she is not at work she absolutely loves spending time with family and friends. She is an outgoing person with a great sense of humour.
Nelly Mthetwa is our newest gem that we appointed at the end of January 2018. She has a medical background of nursing and after a few years of assisting the elderly she decided that she enjoys administration and management more. Nelly speaks 7 of our 11 official languages but she prefers Afrikaans! She is our receptionist and will gladly assist you with making an appointment.
Nelly is married and has 3 beautiful children. She enjoys spending time with them and has an interest in music and image consultancy.
It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to Ida Snyman at the end of 2017. Ida has been our receptionist for the past 15 years. We will miss her greatly but we wish her the best of luck.
Ida is now on pension and is enjoying her 4 grandchildren.
